Barbara Tingle
Congratulations to Barbara Tingle, kindergarten teacher at Sahuarita Primary School, winner of this month's Teacher Excellence Award! In an amazing surprise presentation, there was dancing, singing and lots of laughter. No one wanted to leave! Mrs. Tingle received the most nominations of any teacher. The winning entry came from Shirley Mercier, a parent of one of Mrs. Tingle's students. She wrote: Mrs. Tingle uses a calm, consistent, and caring approach to introducing new concepts and to encourage her students to enjoy learning. She gives the children resources and allows them work independently, in groups, and one-on-one with her. She is innovative, has a great understanding of how 5-year-olds learn, and capitalizes on their abilities to help them master the foundational skills they will need to be successful in future educational experiences. She gives children in her classroom the opportunity to be successful while learning a variety of skills from sign language to mad science. Superb teacher! Congratulations, Mrs. Tingle!
